…As Okowa flags-off Rural Youth Skill Acquisition Programme
Delta State Government on Tuesday reiterated its commitment to ensuring mindset change and value reorientation of youths in the state.
The State Commissioner for Youths Development, Comrade Ifeanyi Egwunyenga stated this in his opening remarks during the official flag-off of the Delta State Rural Youths Skills Acquisition Programme (RYSA) at the Events Centre, Asaba.
Egwunyenga said that RYSA was one of the cardinal strands of the State Government Youth Investment Programme.
He said RYSA is aimed at investing in the youths and bringing about Mindset Change and Value Reorientation with the ultimate aim being to equip youths in the rural communities with the necessary life and business skills to become self-employed and self-sufficient as well as contribute meaningfully to the growth of the local economy.

He reiterated that the process was transparent and purely based on competence and without external interference. Hence the best 3 persons were selected from across 270 electoral wards of the State.
He encouraged the beneficiaries to take full advantage of the programme and take the training sessions seriously, show absolute commitment and pay careful attention to every detail so as to get the best out of the training programme.
He thanked His Excellency, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, for demonstrating unrivaled commitment to the development of Delta Youths.
